The Aprilia Tuono 457 is a naked (streetfighter-style) motorcycle from Aprilia, built to deliver strong performance with a blend of sporty DNA and everyday usability. It shares many key components with the RS 457, but drops the full fairing in favor of a more minimalist design to make the ride more agile and more urban-friendly.
Design & Ergonomics
The design emphasizes stripped-down, muscular looks. Up front there is a triple full-LED headlamp cluster (inspired by Tuono’s bigger models) and sharp LED DRLs. The fuel tank is sculpted for better grip and ergonomics, and the seating position is upright with a single-piece handlebar, making it more comfortable for city rides. There is no large fairing; many parts are exposed, enhancing the naked appearance.
Seat height is about 800 mm, making it accessible for many riders.
Engine & Performance
The bike is powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel‐twin engine (the same basic engine as the RS 457). It produces about 47.6 horsepower (approx. 35 kW) at 9,400 rpm, and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm.
It has a six-speed gearbox, and features like ride-by-wire throttle, multiple riding modes (Eco, Sport, Rain), and traction control are included to allow for both smooth and aggressive response depending on the situation.
Chassis, Suspension & Brakes
The Tuono 457 uses an aluminium twin-spar frame, which contributes to good power-to-weight ratio and handling dynamics.
At the front is a 41 mm upside-down (USD) fork with preload adjustability; at the rear there is a monoshock, also adjustable. Brakes consist of a 320 mm floating front disc with a radial ByBre four-piston caliper, and a 220 mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
Tires are 17-inch alloy wheels, with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear rubber.
Weight, Tank & Other Features
The kerb (wet) weight is about 175 kg. Dry weight (which excludes fluids etc.) is lower, around 159 kg.
Fuel tank capacity is 12.7 litres. Electronics include a 5-inch TFT colour display, full LED lighting, backlit switchgear, ride modes, traction control, switchable ABS. Some accessories like a quick shifter are offered optionally.
Price & Market Positioning (India)
In India, the Tuono 457 was launched with an ex-showroom price of ₹ 3,95,000. It is positioned as a more stripped, naked alternative to the RS 457, costing about ₹ 25,000 less than the RS 457.
Colours offered include Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
